IONIAN ISLANDS

Strung like pearls along the west coast of Greece, the Ionian Islands consist of seven main islands: Corfu (Kerkira), Paxi-Antipaxi, Kefalonia, Zakinthos, Ithaki, Lefkada and Kythera. Heavy rainfall dresses the Ionians in more greenery than any of the other Greek island chains.  Apart from tourism, olive groves and vineyards still play a role in the economy. The tourist resorts are crowded throughout the high season, but the richly varied countryside and abundant beaches draw large numbers of
independent travelers at all times of year.  Spring is a particular favourite for the lush greenery and wildflowers.

IONIAN WONDERS CRUISES

This beautiful group of islands include Ithaki, the birthplace of Ulysses.  No other islands groups compare to the Ionian islands.  Here time stands still and the sea is seductive.  Wrecks of all periods lay suspended in the arms of the bluest sea on earth.  Dive around Corfu, Paxi, Lefkada, Ithaki, and Kefalonia on the seven-day plan, or add Zakinthos and many other smaller islands to the ten-day cruise.
