For thousands of years no one dared disturb the treasures hidden beneath the waters of the Aegean Sea.  But now, all that is changed.  This mythical sea with its nine thousand islands and crystal blue waters is at last open to diving.  A completely unexplored underwater world--secretive, unknown, enormously enticing--this is the place to dive.  Although diving is an integral part of the local tradition--the Greeks being the first to dive deep to collect the famous sponges--recreational diving has only recently been allowed to the public.  After the deregulation of diving for recreational purposes, the sport has grown rapidly, and today there are modern diving facilities at all the most popular destinations, offering all types of diving adventures.
