Just 600 of these breathtaking machines are built each year in Modena, Italy, the sports car capital of the world.

DISSOLVE TO CITY

OF MODENA & HISTORICAL SHOTS

NARRATOR (V.O.):

It all began in 1947 when Qvale pioneered the import of European cars into America, starting with the MG.  Volkswagon, Porche, Maserati and others followed and by the 70s, Qvale had bought the Jensen Motor Company and succeeded as a manufacturer as well.

Over a million cars manufactured, distributed or sold...fifty years of experience--proof indeed that Mangusta wasn’t built in a day.

DISSOLVE TO MANGUSTA TAKING THE ROAD

(Voiceover in Italian

Dissolves to English voiceover)

All the mechanical and electrical elements of the Mangusta are assembled during the early stages of production, so that the engine can be started at stage five.  Next, the body panels are added, the windshield goes in, and other components are fitted, adjusted and tested.

Starting at the front of the line as a chassis, the Mangusta arrives at stage 12 as a car that can take the road without risks, leaks, or surprises...and ready for a spirited Italian test drive.

Every detail has been part of an unceasing quest for perfection.  The Mangusta’s low weight and high strength combine with a formidable 320 horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine to catapult the car forward on a tidal wave of power and torque.

SPOKESMODEL (ON CAMERA):

And as if that weren’t enough, add in a luxurious Italian leather interior and Mangusta’s unique, three-position roof system for optimum driving enjoyment in any season.

NARRATOR (V.O.):

Weighing only ten pounds, the roof lifts out easily, turning the car into a Targa.  From there it can be transformed into a convertible in about ten seconds.
